1472. Adulteration of triple distilled water. U. S. v. 270 Ampuls and 1,990 Ampuls of Triple Distilled Water. Default decree of condemnation and destruction. (F. D. C. No. 14010. Sample No. 64073-F.) On or about October 12, 1944, the United States attorney for the Northern Dis- trict of Georgia filed a libel against 270 5-cc. ampuls and 1,990 10-ce. ampuls of triple distilled water at Atlanta, Ga., alleging that the article had been shipped on or about August 10, 1944, by the American Medical Specialties Co., Inc., from New York, N. Y. The article was alleged to be adulterated in that it purported to be and was represented as water for injection, a drug the name of which is recognized in the United States Pharmacopoeia, an official compendium, but its quality and purity fell below the official standard since the compendium provides that water for injection is a clear liquid, whereas the article was not a clear liquid but contained suspended material. On March 16, 1945, no claimant having appeared,, judgment of condemnation was entered and the product was ordered destroyed.
