ADULTERATION OF DESICCATED EGG PRODUCT. On or about March 11, 1910, L. V. Cloud, of Chicago, 111., shipped? from the State of Illinois to the State of New York one barrel con?? taining 200 pounds of a desiccated egg product. Analysis of samples? of this shipment made in the Bureau of Chemistry, United States? Department of Agriculture, showed it to be adulterated within the? meaning of the Food and Drugs Act of June 30, 1906. As it appeared? from the findings of the analyst and report made that the product? was subject to seizure under section 10 of the act, the Secretary of? Agriculture reported the facts to the United States attorney for the? Southern District of New York. In due course a libel was filed? against the said desiccated egg product, charging that it was adul?? terated within the meaning of the act, because it was in whole or in? part composed of a filthy, putrid and decomposed animal substance,? and praying seizure, condemnation and forfeiture. On April 5,? 1910, there being no claimant of record, the case came on for hearing,? and the court rendered its decree of condemnation and forfeiture and? ordered that the goods be destroyed.
