(Given pursuant to section 4 of the Food and Drugs Act.) ADULTERATION OF LIQUEUR CALLED " DELLA STELLA." On March 27, 1912, the United States Attorney for the District of? New Jersey, acting upon a report by the Secretary of Agriculture,? filed in the United States District Court for said district a libel for? the seizure and condemnation of four barrels of liqueur called " Delia? Stella," remaining unsold in the original unbroken packages and in? possession of the Lucca Importing Co., Hoboken, N. J., and other? persons to the United States Attorney unknown, alleging that, the? product had been transported by means of a wagon on or about? March 19, 1912_, from the State of New York into the State of New? Jersey, and charging adulteration in violation of the Food and Drugs? Act. The product was labeled: " Delia Stella." Adulteration was alleged in the libel for the reason that the prod?? uct contained an added poisonous and deleterious ingredient, to wit,? wood alcohol, which rendered it injurious to health. On April 22, 1912, no claimant having appeared for the property,? judgment of condemnation and forfeiture was entered and it was? further ordered that the product should be destroyed by the United?
