(Given pursuant to section 4 of the Food and Drugs Act.) ADULTEKATION OF SO-CALLED " GSAN LIQUEUR BELLA STELLA." On March 22, 1912, the United States Attorney for the District of? New Jersey, acting upon a report by the Secretary of Agriculture,? filed in the District Court of the United States for said district a? libel for the seizure and condemnation of nine cases of liqueur called? " Gran Liqueur Delia Stella " remaining unsold in the original un?? broken packages and in possession of the Lucca Importing Co.,? Hoboken, NT. J., and of other persons to the United States Attorney? unknown, alleging that the product had been transported by means? of a wagon on or about March 19, 1912, from the State of New York? into the State of New Jersey, and charging adulteration in violation? of the Food and Drugs Act. The product was labeled: " Gr.an? Liqueur Delia Stella, Fragile, Lucca Produce Wine Co., New York." Adulteration was alleged in the libel for the reason that the prod?? uct contained an added poisonous and deleterious ingredient, to wit,? wood alcohol, which rendered it injurious to health. On April 22, 1912; judgment of condemnation and forfeiture was? entered and it was further ordered that the product should be de?? stroyed by the United States marshal. JAMES WILSON,?
