(Siren pursuant to section 4 of the Food and Drags Act.) MISBRANDING} OF COFFEE. At the May, 1912, term of the District Court of the United States? for the District of Indiana the grand jurors of the United States? within and for said district, acting upon a report by the Secretary of? Agriculture, returned an indictment against John B. Bright & Son? (Ltd.), a corporation, Indianapolis, Ind., charging shipment by said? company, in violation of the Food and Drugs Act, on August 21,? 1911, from the State of Indiana into the State of Ohio, of a quantity? of coffee which was misbranded. The product was labeled: " Bour?? bon Santos Blend Boco Coffee Packed for G. W. Bobb Co., Colum?? bus, Ohio." Examination of a sample of the product by the Bureau of Chem?? istry of this Department showed it to be a low grade Santos. Mis?? branding was charged in the indictment for the reason that the? statement " Bourbon Santos Blend Boco Coffee " printed and ap?? parent upon the label on the carton containing the product, regarding? it, was false and misleading in that the product was not a Bourbon? Santos Coffee nor a blended coffee, but, in fact, was a low grade? Santos coffee.
