No. E-552.) On February 14, 1916, the United States attorney for the Eastern District of? Pennsylvania, acting upon a report by the Secretary of Agriculture, filed? in the District Court of the United States for said district a libel for the? seizure and condemnation of 146 cases of condensed milk, consigned by the? Holland Food Corporation, New Orleans, La., remaining unsold in the original? unbroken packages at Philadelphia, Pa., alleging that the article had been? shipped, on or about February 7, 1916, and transported from the State of? Louisiana into the State of Pennsylvania, and charging adulteration in viola-? lion of the Food and Drugs Act. The shipping containers were marked, in part: " Sweetened Condensed Thick Milk For Manufacturing Purposes Only? * * *? Adulteration of the article was alleged in the libel for the reason that it con?? sisted in part of a filthy and decomposed animal substance.
