No.? 14804-r. S. No. E-1070.) On July 15, 1918, the United States attorney for the Eastern District of? Pennsylvania, acting upon a report by the Secretary of Agriculture, filed in the? District Court of the United States for said district a libel for the seizure and? condemnation of 400 cases, each containing 30 dozen shell eggs, consigned by? D. N. Lightfoot & Son, Springfield, Mo., remaining unsold in the original un?? broken packages, at Philadelphia, Pa., alleging that the article had been? shipped on or about June 10, 1918, and transported from the State of Missouri? into the State of Pennsylvania, and charging adulteration in violation of the? Food and Drugs Act. Adulteration of the article was alleged in the libel for the reason that it con?? sisted in whole or in part of a filthy, decomposed, and putrid animal substance. On August 20, 1918, the said D. N. Lightfoot & Son, claimant, having ad?? mitted the allegations of the libel, judgment of condemnation and forfeiture was? entered, and it was ordered by the court that the product should be released to? said claimant upon the payment of the costs of the proceedings and the? execution of a bond in the sum of $6,000, in conformity with section 10 of the? act.
