District of Illinois, acting upon a report by the Secretary of Agriculture, filed? in the District Court of the United States for said district libels for the seizure? and condemnation of 33 packages and 36 packages of Dr. Martel's Female Pills,? and 4 packages of Dr. Martel's Special Female Pills, at Chicago, 111., alleging? that the articles-had'been shipped by the French Drug Co., New York, N. Y.,? November 26, 1919, and June S, 1920, respectively, and transported from the? State of New York into the State of Illinois, and charging misbranding in? violation of the Food and Drugs Act, as amended. Analyses of samples of the articles by the Bureau of Chemistry of this depart?? ment showed that the Female Pills consisted essentially of oil of savin, and? ferrous sulphate and carbonate, and that the Female Pills Special consisted? essentially of oil of tansy, aloes, and ferrous sulphate and carbonate. On November 23, 1920, no claimant having appeared for the property, judg?? ments of condemnation and forfeiture were entered, and it was ordered by the? court that the product be destroyed by the United States marshal.
