18978. Adulteration of canned frozen mixed eggs. V. S. v. B. B. Wright & Son (Inc.). Plea of grullty. Fine, $25. (F. & D. No. 26676. I. S. No. 28747.) Samples of canned frozen eggs from the shipment herein described having been found to be decomposed, the Secretary of Agriculture reported the matter to the United States attorney for the Southern District of Ohio. On October 6,1931, the United States attorney filed in the District Court of the United States for the district aforesaid, an information against E. B. Wright & Son (Inc.), a corporation, Cincinnati, Ohio, alleging shipment by said com- pany, in violation of the food and drugs act, on or about April 4, 1931, from the State of Ohio into the State of Virginia, of a quantity of frozen mixed eggs, which were adulterated. The article was labeled in part: " Notashell Farm Brand * * * Frozen Eggs Mixed E. B. Wright & Son, Inc. * * * Cincinnati, O." It was alleged in the information that the article was adulterated in that it consisted in whole and in part of a filthy and decomposed and putrid animal substance. On November 23, 1931, a plea of guilty to the information was entered on behalf of the defendant company, and the court imposed a fine of $25. ABTHTJB M. HYDE, Secretary of Agriculture.
