This case involved a shipment of canned salmon that was in part decomposed. On April 27, 1936, the United States attorney for the third division of the District of Alaska, acting upon a report by the Secretary of Agriculture, filed in the district court an information against Al Jones, trading as Kustatan Pack- ing Co. at Anchorage, Alaska, alleging that on or about July 10, 1935, the defendant had shipped from Alaska into the State of Washington, a number of unlabeled cans of salmon, and that the article was adulterated in violation of the Food and Drugs Act. The article was alleged to be adulterated in that it consisted in part of decomposed animal substance. On July 22,1936, the defendant entered a plea of guilty and the court imposed a fine of $15 and costs. W. R. GREGG, Acting Secretary of Agriculture.
