This case involved cheese that contained evidence of the presence of filth. On April 20,1936, the United States attorney for the Eastern District of Wis- consin, acting upon a report by the Secretary of Agriculture, filed in the district court an information against Leslie F. Radke, trading as the North Road Fac- tory, Watertown, Wis., alleging shipment by said defendant in violation of the Food and Drugs Act on or about March 27, March 30, and April 3, 6, 10, and 13, 1935, from the State of Wisconsin into the State of Illinois of quantities of cheese that was adulterated. The article was alleged to be adulterated in that it consisted in part of a filthy animal substance. On January 22, 1937, the defendant entered a plea of guilty and the court imposed a fine of $25.
