On August 27 and September 9, 1937, the United States attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, acting upon reports by the Secretary of Agri- culture, filed in the district court libels praying seizure and condemnation of 431 pounds of crab meat at Philadelphia, Pa., alleging that the article had been shipped in interstate commerce in part on or about August 24, and in part on or about September 6, 1937, by the George O. Powley Co. from Wingate, Md., and charging adulteration in violation of the Food and Drugs Act. The article was alleged to be adulterated in that it consisted of a filthy animal substance. On September 30, 1937, no claimant having appeared, judgments of condemna- tion were entered and the product was ordered destroyed. HARRY L. BROWN, Acting Secretary of Agriculture.
