28915. Adulteration of whitefish. TJ. S. v. 3 Boxes of Whiteflsh. Default decree of condemnation and destruction. (F. & D. No. 41505. Sample No. 288-D.) This product was infested with parasitic worms. On January 21, 1938, the United States attorney for the Southern District of California, acting upon a report by the Secretary of Agriculture, filed in the district court a libel praying seizure and condemnation of three boxes of white- fish at Los Angeles, Calif., alleging that the article had been shipped on or about January 13, 1938, by Selkirk Fish Co. from Winnipeg, Canada, and charging adulteration in violation of the Food and Drugs Act. The article was alleged to be adulterated in that it consisted wholly or in part of a filthy animal substance. On February 25,1938, no claimant having appeared, judgment of condemnation, with order of destruction, was entered. M. L. WILSON, Acting Secretary of Agriculture.
