93. Adulteration of apples. IT. S. v. 2G Bushels of Apples. Default decrees of condemnation and destruction. (F. D. C. No. 638. Sample No. 70026-D.) On September 20, 1939, the United States attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania filed a libel against 26 bushels of apples at Philadelphia, Pa., alleg- ing that the article had been shipped in interstate commerce on or about September 18,1989, by Preston T. Roberts from Moorestown, N. J.; and charging that it was adulterated in that it bore an added poisonous or deleterious substance, lead, ¦which might have rendered it injurious to health. On October 18, 1939, no claimant having appeared, judgment of condemnation was entered and the product was ordered destroyed.
