287. Adulteration of raisins. IT. S. v. 198 Cases and 801 Cases of Raisins. De¬ fault decree of condemnation and destruction. (F. D. C. No. 598. Sample Nos. 66229-D, 66230-D.) On or about September 19, 1939, the United States attorney for the Southern District of Florida filed a libel against 499 cases of raisins at Jacksonville, Fla., alleging that the article had been shipped in interstate commerce on or about June 30 and July 14, 1939, by Rosenberg Bros. & Co. from San Francisco, Calif.; and charging adulteration in that it consisted in whole or in part of a filthy substance. The article was labeled in part: "Iris Brand California Midget Bakers Thompson Seedless Raisins." On October 23, 1939, no claimant having appeared, judgment of condemnation was entered and the product was ordered destroyed.
