1834. Adulteration of shelled peKans. U. S. v. 6 Cartons of Shelled PeKans. Consent decree of condemnation and destruction. (F. D. C. No. 3867. Sample No. 47214-B.) This product not only was contaminated with E. coli, but was moldy. On February 26, 1941, the United States attorney for the Northern District of Illinois filed a libel against 6 cartons of shelled pecans at Chicago, Ill., alleging that the article had been shipped in interstate commerce on or about January 30, 1941, by Sam A. Pierce from Cairo, Ga.; and charging that it was adulterated in that it consisted wholly or in part of a filthy or decomposed substance. On March 27, 1941, the claimant having consented to the entry of a decree, judgment of condemnation was entered and the product was ordered destroyed.
