This product was contaminated with Escherichia coli, and also contained rodent hairs and insect fragments. On January 24, 1941, the United States attorney for the District of Minnesota filed a libel against 16 cases of pecan pieces at Minneapolis, Minn., alleging that the article had been shipped in interstate commerce on or about November 26. 1940, by the Sunshine Pecan Co. from Chicago, Ill.; and charging that it was adulterated in that it consisted in whole or in part of a filthy substance. On March 12, 1941, no claimant having appeared, judgment of condemnation was entered and the product was ordered destroyed.
