2342. Adulteration of butter. U. S. v. 52 Cartons of Butter. Default decree of condemnation and destruction. (F. D. C. No. 5724. Sample No. 62428-E.) On August 19, 1941, the United States attorney for the Northern District of Illinois filed a libel against 52 cartons of butter at Chicago, Ill., alleging that the article had been shipped on or about August 13, 1941, by Community Creamery Go. from Carthage, Mo.; and charging that it was adulterated in that it con- sisted in whole or in part of a filthy, putrid, or decomposed substance. The article was labeled in part: "Creamery Butter S. C. Borden Co. * * * Dis- tributors." On October 15, 1941, no claimant having appeared, judgment of condemnation was entered and the product was ordered destroyed.
