3593. Adulteration of pecan pieces. TJ. S. v. 6 Cases of Pecan Meats. Default decree of condemnation and destruction. (F. D. C. No. 7336. Sample No. 70353-E.) On April 14,1942, the United States attorney for the Middle District of Georgia filed a libel against 6 cases of pecan meats at Valdosta, Ga., alleging that the article had been shipped in interstate commerce on or about March 12 and 17, 1942, by the Dasher Pecan Co. from Valdosta, Ga., to Miami, Fla., and that it had been re- turned by the consignee; and charging that it was adulterated in that it consisted in whole or in part of a filthy substance; and in that it had been prepared under insanitary conditions whereby it might have become contaminated with filth. The article was labeled in part: "Amber Pieces 60 Lbs." On May 7, 1942, no claimant having appeared, judgment of condemnation was entered and the product was ordered destroyed.
