3875. Adulteration of butter. TJ. S. v. 2 Cases of Butter. Default decree of con¬ demnation and destruction. (F. D. C. No. 7921. Sample No. 94115-E.) On June 30A1942, the United States attorney for the Eastern District of Illinois filed a libel against 2 cases of butter at East St. Louis, Ill., alleging that the article had been shipped in interstate commerce on or about June 24, 1942, by Aro Creamery Co. from St. Louis, Mo.; and charging that it was adulterated in that it consisted in whole or in part of a filthy, .putrid, or decomposed sub- stance. The article was labeled in part: "Blue Ribbon Brand Creamery Butter." On August 7, 1942, no claimant having appeared, judgment of condemnation was entered and the product was ordered destroyed, the decree providing that destruction be accomplished by converting it into soap grease.
