5462. Adulteration of butter. U. S. v. 14 Cases of Butter. Consent decree of condemnation. Product ordered released under bond for reworking. (F. D, C. No. 10297. Sample No. 40882-F.) - On July 9, 1943, the United States attorney for tie Eastern District of Louisiana filed a libel against 14 cases, each containing 32 1-pound prints, of butter at New Orleans, La., alleging that the article had been shipped in inter- state commerce by the Fairmont Creamery Co., from Lawton, Okla., on or about June 30,1943; and charging that it was adulterated in that a product containing" less than 80 percent by weight of milk fat had been substituted for butter. On August 10, 1943, the Fairmont Creamery Co., Omaha, Nebr., claimant, \ laving admitted the allegations of the libel, judgment of condemnation was ' entered and the product was ordered released under bond with provision for shipment to Omaha, Nebr., for reworking into butter under the supervision of the Food and Drug Administration.
