PRODUCT: 32 bushels of apples at St. Louis, Mo. VIOLATION CHARGED: Adulteration, Section 402 (a) (1), the article contained an added poisonous or deleterious substance, lead, which may have rendered it injurious to health. DISPOSITION: September 22, 1944. No claimant having appeared, judgment of condemnation was entered and the product was ordered delivered to a char- itable institution, conditioned that the apples be peeled and cored and the peels and cores destroyed under the supervision of the Food and Drug Admin- istration.
