LIBEL FILED : October 30, 1944, Eastern District of Louisiana. ALLEGED SHIPMENT : On or about October 10 and 12, 1944, by the Bewley Mills, from Fort Worth, Tex. PRODUCT: 210 5-pound bags and 475 25-pound bags of corn meal, at New Or- leans, La. LABEL IN PART : "Ole-Fashun Corn, Meal." VIOLATIONS CHARGED: Adulteration, Section 402 (a) (3), the product consisted in whole or in part of a filthy substance by reason of the presence of beetles, larvae, insect fragments, rodent excreta fragments, and rodent hair fragments; and, Section 402 (a) (4), it had been prepared under insanitary conditions whereby it may have become contaminated with filth. DISPOSITION: January 5, 1945. The Bewley Mills, claimant, having admitted the allegations of the libel, judgment of condemnation was entered and the product was ordered released under bond for conversion into animal feed, under the supervision of the Food and Drug Administration.
