LIBEL FILED : January 19, 1945, Eastern District of Virginia. ALLEGED SHIPMENT : On or about December 27, 1944, by B. C Friedman & Sons, Inc., from Philadelphia, Pa. PRODUCT: 74 boxes, each containing 25 pounds, of cracker meal at Norfolk, Va. VIOLATIONS CHARGED: Adulteration, Section 402 (a) (3), the product consisted in whole or in part of a filthy substance by reason of the presence of rodent hair fragments and insect fragments; and, Section 402 (a) (4), it had been prepared under insanitary conditions whereby it might have become contaminated with filth. DISPOSITION: March 7, 1945. No claimant having appeared, judgment of con- demnation was entered and the product was ordered destroyed.
