LIBEL FILED: December. 15, 1944, District of New Jersey. The product consisted of small squares of clear sugar candy, colored brown and flavored with imitation maple flavor. Examination showed that the candy was short of the declared weight. LABEL IN PART: (Bags) "Kings Choice Maple Squares * * * Net Weight 2 Ozs." VIOLATIONS CHARGED: Misbranding, Section 403 (a), the name "MapleSquares" was false and misleading as applied to an imitation maple product containing no maple; and, Section 403 (e) (2) the article failed to bear a label containing an accurate statement of the quantity of the contents.
