LIBEL FILED : August 29,1945, District of Maryland. ALLEGED SHIPMENT : On or about January 22, 1945, by the Suffolk Peanut Co., from Suffolk, Va. PRODUCT: 146 bags of peanuts at Baltimore, Md. NATURE OF CHARGE: Adulteration, Section 402 (a) (3) the product consisted in whole or in part of a filthy substance by reason of the presence of beetles, moths, larvae, and insect fragments. DISPOSITION: October 3, 1945. The Tas-T-Nut Co., Baltimore, Md., claimant, having admitted the allegations of the libel, judgment of condemnation was entered and the product was ordered released under bond for the sorting of the good from the bad portion, under the supervision of the Food and Drug Administration, and for the sale of the rejected peanuts to an oil mill for crushing purposes.
