PRODUCT: 3 cartons, each containing 24 cards of 12 %-ounce envelopes, of black pepper offered for sale by Carl's, Washington, D. C. LABEL IN PART : "Red Star Pure Black Pepper Packed by Red Star Packing Co., Phila. Pa." NATURE OF CHARGE: Adulteration, Section 402 (b) (2), a substance consisting of ground black pepper and ground soybeans had been substituted in whole or in part for pure black pepper. Misbranding, Section 403 (a), the label designation "Pure Black Pepper" was false and misleading. DISPOSITION: February 20, 1947. No claimant having appeared, judgment of condemnation was entered and the product was ordered destroyed.
