ALLEGED SHIPMENT: On or about November 21, 1945, by Arthur P. Slaughter, from Bristol, Tenn. PRODUCT: 2 200-pound drums of black walnut meats at New York, N. Y. NATURE OF CHARGE: Adulteration, Section 402 (a) (3), the article consisted in whole or in part of a filthy substance by reason of the presence of E. coli. DISPOSITION: April 9, 1946. Arthur P. Slaughter, claimant, having admitted the allegations of the libel, judgment of condemnation was entered and the product was ordered released under bond, conditioned that it be washed, pasteurized, and labeled. It was provided further that if, upon inspection by the Food and Drug Administration, the product or any portion of it was still unfit for human consumption, it was to be destroyed or denatured for use as hog feed.
