ALLEGED SHIPMENT : On or about December 3, 4, 7, and 10, 1946, from the State of Virginia into the State of West Virginia. LABEL, IN PART: "Fruit Cake [or "Southern * * * Bread," or "Southern * * * Dinner Rolls"] Columbia Baking Co., Atlanta, Ga." NATURE OF CHARGE: Adulteration, Section 402 (a) (3), the products consisted in part of filthy substances by reason of the presence of insect fragments, mites, rodent hair fragments, insect larvae, adult and larval insect heads, larval cast skin, a larval head capsule, a psocid, a scale insect, and feather fragments; and, Section 402 (a) (4), they had been prepared and packed under insanitary conditions whereby they may have become contaminated with filth. DISPOSITION : October 27, 1947. A plea of guilty having been entered on behalf of the defendant, the court imposed a fine of $100 on each of the 8 counts.
