INFORMATION FILED : April 7, 1948, Western District of Missouri, against Wein- traub Baking Co., Inc., Kansas City, Mo., and Louis J. Weintraub, president and general manager. ALLEGED SHIPMENT: On or about October 3, 6, and 31, 1947, from the State of Missouri into the State of Kansas. LABEL IN PART : "Old Fashioned Pumpernickel Bread," "Italian Bread," "Golden Cream Sliced Bread," or "Old Fashioned Rye Bread." NATURE OF CHARGE: Adulteration, Section 402 (a) (3), the products consisted in part of filthy substances by reason of the presence of insects, insect frag- ments, and rodent hair fragments; and, Section 402 (a) (4), with the exception of one shipment, the products had been prepared under insanitary conditions whereby they may have become contaminated with filth. DISPOSITION : May 7, 1948. Pleas of guilty having been entered on behalf of the defendants, the court imposed fines of $100 on the first count and $50 on each of the other six counts, to be paid jointly, with costs paid by the corporation and Louis J. Weintraub.
