NATURE OF CHARGE: Adulteration, Section 402 (a) (3). the product consisted in 
part of a filthy substance by reason of the presence of insect fragments and 
rodent hair fragments: Section 402 (a) (4). it had been prepared and packed 
under insanitary conditions whereby it may have become contaminated with 
filth; Section 402 (b) (1). a valuable constituent, the solids of egg or egg yolk, 
had been in part omitted: and. Section 402 (b) (2). an article deficient in the 
solids of egg or egg yolkhad been substituted in part for ega noodle".
Misbranding-, Section 403 (g) (1). the product failed to conform to the defi- 
nition and standard of identity for egg noodles, since the total solids of the 
food contained less than 5.5 percent by weight of the solids of egg or egg yolk.
DISPOSITION : August 17. 194S. Pleas of guilty having been entered, the defend- 
ants were each fined $200, together with costs.
