LIBELS FILED : August 11 and 15,1949, District of Maryland. ALLEGED SHIPMENT : On or about June 29 and July 1,1949, by the Heidelberger Confectionery Co., from Philadelphia, Pa. PRODUCT: 46 cartons, each containing 12 12-ounce packages, of candy at Balti- more, Md. LABEL, IN PART: (Package) "Lucille Licorice Flavored Assortment" and "Lucille Jelly Daisies." NATURE OF CHARGE: Adulteration, Section 402 (a) (3), the article consisted in whole or in part of a filthy substance by reason of the presence of rodent hair fragments; and, Section 402 (a) (4), it had been prepared under insanitary conditions whereby it may have become contaminated with filth. DISPOSITION: September 19, 1949. Default decrees of condemnation and destruction.
