ALLEGED SHIPMENT : On or about October 17, 1949, by the Queen Anne Candy Co., from Seattle, Wash. PRODUCT: Candy. 27 2-pound boxes and 70 1-pound boxes at Anaconda, Mont. LABEL IN PART : "Canterbury Assorted Chocolates * * * Canterbury Candy Makers Seattle, U. S. A." or "Canterbury Tales * * * Seattle, Wash." NATURE OF CHARGE: Adulteration, Section 402 (a) (3), the article consisted in whole or in part of a filthy substance by reason of the presence of rodent hairs ; and, Section 402 (a) (4), it had been prepared under insanitary conditions whereby it may have become contaminated with filth. DISPOSITION : February 2, 1950. Default decree of condemnation. The court ordered that the product be denatured and delivered to a State institution, for use as animal feed.
