ALLEGED SHIPMENT : On or about July 17, 1950, by the Rice Growers Assn. of California, from West Sacramento, Calif. PRODUCT: 650 100-pound bags of brewers rice at Toledo, Ohio. NATURE OF CHARGE: Adulteration, Section 402 (a) (3), the article consisted in whole or in part of a filthy substance by reason of the presence of insects and insect parts; and, Section 402 (a) (4), it had been prepared under insanitary conditions whereby it may have become contaminated with filth. DISPOSITION: October 10, 1950. Default decree of condemnation. The court ordered that the product be advertised and sold for use as animal feed. On October 26, 1950, the product having been advertised and no bidders having appeared, an order was entered directing that the product be destroyed.
