INFORMATION FILED : November 14j 1950, Eastern District of Tennessee, against Mannitol Davis, trading as the Davis candy Co., Chattanooga, Tenn. ALLEGED SHIPMENT : On or about March 23, June 19, 20, and 21, and July 1,1950, from the State of Tennessee into the States of Georgia, Virginia, and North Carolina. NATURE OF CHARGE: Adulteration, Section 402 (a) (3), the article consisted in part of a filthy substance by reason of the presence of beetles, larvae, insect fragments, and rodent hair fragments; and, Section 402 (a) (4), it had been prepared and packed under insanitary conditions whereby it may have become contaminated with filth. DISPOSITION: February 16, 1951. A plea of guilty having been entered, the court imposed a fine of $400 against the defendant.
